Two Sighs Unheard


Late last night,
after a long
hard day
that would
take forever
to describe,
my wife
said to me
in bed,

I wish we were at home.

Simple words
that said
it all
as well
as any poem.

Two sighs
unheard
in my
mother�s
world
a few feet
down the hall.

And then we were alone, adrift . . .
