A Girl Walking in the Wood

When her last
memory has fled
its ragged nest,
whom, then,
will she be?

A girl walking
in the wood,
her secrets
tightly bundled.

When she meets
a prince she cannot see,
what strange riddle
will she offer?

The grief that finally
set her free,
the full ripe days
behind her.
