Sunshine’s Bride


The little girl selling lemonade
looks like Sunshine’s bride.

Her grandmother smiles
at the window, white hair awry.

A thousand years go by.

Someone dear is planting marigolds.
When did she arrive?

And who am I, to be defined by love?
